Exit re-entry visa Saudi Arabia: fees, extension and cancellation

Official exit re-entry visa fees: SAR 200 single, SAR 500 multiple, doubled extra months from abroad. Conditions, cancellation and late return.

By Gulf Guide

An exit and re-entry visa lets an iqama holder leave Saudi Arabia and come back on the same residence. For a worker, the employer usually issues it on Absher Business or Muqeem. A family head issues it for dependents on Absher Individuals. Each person travelling needs their own visa, children included. The fee is paid through SADAD before the visa is issued.

Exit re-entry fees (official schedule)

These are the fees in the Council of Ministers amendment reported by Saudi Gazette on 30 December 2022. Absher shows the exact amount for your case before you pay, and that screen is the final word.

  • Single trip: SAR 200 for up to two months, then SAR 100 for each additional month while you are inside the Kingdom.
  • Multiple trips: SAR 500 for three months, then SAR 200 for each additional month while you are inside the Kingdom.
  • Extra months added while you are outside the Kingdom cost double: SAR 200 a month on a single visa, SAR 400 a month on a multiple visa.
  • The visa cannot run longer than your iqama is valid.

Last checked: Oct 2026. Any dependent fee owed on your file is collected separately when an exit re-entry visa is issued, according to the Passports notice carried by the Saudi Press Agency. See Saudi dependent fee.

Before Absher will issue it

Saudi Gazette, reporting Jawazat in January 2024, listed these conditions:

  • All traffic fines paid. Check them on Absher first, see traffic violations.
  • No violation for an earlier visa that was issued, not used and not cancelled.
  • No other valid exit re-entry visa on the file.
  • You are inside the Kingdom when it is issued.
  • Passport valid for at least 90 days, and your fingerprint registered.

If you will not travel: cancel it

The Absher user guide says an unused visa must be cancelled within 90 days of issue or before the return date on the visa, whichever comes first, while the person is inside the Kingdom. If it is not cancelled in time, fines apply under the regulations. Jawazat has also said the fee is not refunded when you cancel.

If you do not come back in time

Jawazat lifted the old three-year entry ban on workers who missed their return date, with effect from 16 January 2024, as Saudi Gazette reported. Such a worker can come back on a new visa. That does not bring the old iqama back to life, and the old employer may have closed the file. Ask before you plan a late return.

Leaving for good is a different product: the final exit visa. Check your iqama dates first with check iqama status.

Common questions

How much is an exit re-entry visa?

Under the official schedule, a single trip is SAR 200 for up to two months plus SAR 100 for each extra month, and a multiple visa is SAR 500 for three months plus SAR 200 for each extra month. Extra months added from outside the Kingdom are doubled. Absher shows the exact amount for your file.

Who issues my exit re-entry visa?

For a worker, normally the employer on Absher Business or Muqeem. For a wife or children, the family head on Absher. Each traveller needs a separate visa.

Can I extend it while I am in Pakistan?

The fee schedule provides for adding months while the resident is outside the Kingdom, at double the monthly rate. The extension is done by the sponsor or family head online, and it cannot go beyond the iqama expiry.

Do I get the fee back if I cancel?

No. Jawazat has said the fee is not refundable. Cancel within 90 days of issue or before the return date, whichever comes first, to avoid a fine.

Is there still a three-year ban if I don't return?

Jawazat lifted that ban from 16 January 2024, according to Saudi Gazette. You can come back on a new visa, but the old residence is not automatically restored.
