Umrah permit for iqama holders on Nusuk

How iqama holders book the free Umrah permit on Nusuk with Nafath, and the Hajj-season closure dates the ministry announces.

By Gulf Guide

Iqama holders in Saudi Arabia do not need an Umrah visa. They need an Umrah permit, booked on Nusuk. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah lists the service for residents, says it is free, and says the permit is issued immediately.

How to book the permit

  1. Open the Nusuk app or website.
  2. Log in through Nafath, the national single sign-on.
  3. Choose Umrah permit booking.
  4. Pick an available date and time slot.
  5. Issue the permit and keep it on your phone.

Season dates and Hajj closures

Permits for residents are suspended around Hajj. In 2026 the Passports directorate announced the suspension from 18 April to 31 May 2026. Residents also needed an official permit to enter Makkah from 13 April. The ministry's 1448 AH calendar reopened permit issuance on Nusuk from 1 June 2026. Expect similar closures every Hajj season, and check Nusuk for the current dates.

Last checked: Oct 2026. The permit itself is free on the official service. Transport or packages from agents are separate and are not set by the ministry.
