UAE visa overstay fine: AED 50 a day and how to clear it

ICP's official overstay fine is AED 50 a day for visit, tourist and residence visas. When it starts, how to pay it and how to clear your status.

By Gulf Guide

Staying in the UAE after your visa or residence ends costs a daily fine. ICP's fine-payment service card sets AED 50 a day for staying after the permitted period, or after an entry visa, residence permit or exit permit expires or is cancelled. u.ae says visit, tourist and residence overstays all use this single daily rate.

When the fine starts

For residents, ICP counts the fine from the day after the grace period for your residence type ends. The grace period runs from 30 to 180 days depending on the category. See UAE visa cancellation and grace period.

How to pay and clear it

  • Pay through ICP's service, using UAE Pass to log in. Dubai-issued visas are handled by GDRFA Dubai.
  • ICP says you must adjust your status or leave the UAE after paying.
  • Keep the receipt until you have left or your new visa is issued.
